Elder Law and Aging Issues
Recognizing the legal needs of the elderly, Mr. Lane and Mr. Rusu have developed a practice designed to serve those needs. Important medical, financial and family decisions are often made more difficult because of confusion about Wills, Living Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts and Advance Medical Directives. Mr. Lane and Mr. Rusu will advise the client as to which, if any, are necessary to meet his or her goals. They can help disabled and elderly clients and their families in the orderly management of assets, taking into account the eligibility requirements for Medicaid, Medicare and other Public Benefits.
Probate and Estate Administration
Many people fear the process of probate and estate administration. Mr. Lane and Mr. Rusu, with the aid of their staff, will assist clients in the orderly administration of any estates so that the client does not feel burdened or confused by the complexity of the process.
Estate Planning
Our firm can assist the client in the area known as estate planning, wherein planning to conserve assets, limit estate taxation and avoid or minimize the probate process, or any combination of goals, may be the primary objective of the client. This may include the use of Living Trusts, along with Wills and Durable Powers of Attorney. Mr. Lane and Mr. Rusu will focus on the individual needs of the client and work with a variety of legal tools and techniques to accomplish their estate planning goals.
Our firm may lack expertise to handle certain types of cases for our clients. If so, we will attempt to make a referral to another qualified and reasonably priced attorney.
